          Traffic Controller

          Department: Fiber

          Reports To: Construction Manager

          GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

          Manage the flow of traffic to ensure the safety of construction sites, workers, and the public.

          ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

                Direct traffic around construction zones to ensure smooth flow while maintaining safety standards for yourself, the crew, pedestrians, and vehicles.

                Communicate clearly with drivers, pedestrians, and site personnel to ensure proper and safe traffic management.

                Monitor traffic patterns and adjust signal systems or barriers to prevent congestion or accidents.

                Ensure all safety protocols are being followed, including the correct use of signage, flagging equipment, and protective gear.

                Provide support to crew members and report any safety hazards immediately.

                Assist with setup and teardown of traffic control devices and barriers.

          EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

          High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

          LANGUAGE

          Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instruction, and procedure manual.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively in person with other crew members and public drivers.

          PHYSICAL DEMANDS

          Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs at one time, ability to stand and walk on pavement for extended periods.

          WORK ENVIRONMENT

          The work environment is outdoors in extreme high and low temperatures and all forms of precipitation. This is a year round position with conditions varying from season to season.

          Fiber Designer

          Department: Fiber

          Reports To: Fiber Design Manager

          GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

          Help design our growing fiber network.

          ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

                Plan, design, implement, maintain documentation for fiber outside plant facilities.

                Support existing and ongoing projects.

                Maintain safe work habits and conditions as per the regulations and policies.

                Understand outside plant construction techniques.

                Design to the aerial and underground engineering requirements.

                Assist and support restoration methods for emergency conditions such as fiber damages, power failures, and other disasters.

                Define plans for implementation of new plant construction and modification of

                existing facilities as needed.

                Assist with the project expenditure, create progress reports, and recommend solutions to management, as needed.

                Assist with the responsibilities for ordering needed supplies for builders.

                Assist with paperwork and obtain new permits when needed.

                Coordinate and assist with necessary fieldwork.

                Understand CAD, GIS, 3GIS, and other systems used to design fiber networks.

                Other duties as assigned.

          EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

          At least 2 years of relevant fiber design experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Capability to think logically, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to utilize computers and other technology to complete duties. Time management, multi-tasking, dependability, and detail-oriented abilities are critical.Ability to interpret a variety of documentations including but not limited to construction plans, drawings, and maps.

          LANGUAGE

          Ability to read and interpret documents such as maps, instructions, and permitting paperwork.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively in person with crew members, management, and peers.

          WORK ENVIRONMENT

          The work environment is an office setting with occasional trips to the field if needed.

          Field Service Technician 

          Department: Installation

          Reports To: FST Supervisor

           

          GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

          Provide installation and service of all services provided by Amplex Electric
           

          ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

          ·      Install and service internet, VOIP, and any services provided by Amplex Electric

          ·      Mount equipment to customers home.  Run outdoor and indoor cable though walls, crawl spaces, attics and basements properly and neatly.

          ·      Assist customers in configuring computer and/or router for internet service.

          ·      Properly maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.

          ·      Collect and submit accurate documents and money collected.

          ·      Present a positive professional image to customers at all times.

          ·      Provide technical knowledge, expertise, and training to other installers as required.

          ·      Follow all company safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment as required.

           

          EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

          High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

          MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

          Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.  

          REASONING ABILITY

          ·      Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions finished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

          ·      Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.     

          PHYSICAL DEMANDS

          Ability to lift, carry and climb a 75 lb. 32’ ladder, and climb a 50’ tower.  Ability to crawl, stoop, kneel, and drive a truck.
